2014 – 2016

Working with CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) and their Customer Information team, a wayfinding strategy was developed for the passenger journey at the then, newly designed 95th Street station terminal (a city or intercity/national bus to metro train transfer point). Passenger journey’s were studied with key touchpoints identified to improve the quality of the user experience.

New conventions were created for improved legibility once the intermodal nature of the station and needs were understood. In particular, each wayfinding requirement and location were scrutinized. The positioning within its surroundings intended to aid navigation with improved visual clarity. The work from the 95th Street project has been directly applied to the Union Station intermodal Bus Terminal in downtown Chicago.
