A compact LED street light fitting in a host of lumen output packages.

Municipalities and local authorities require street lighting that is efficient in its energy consumption, reliable in its delivery of light, and the correct output for the application.

Product development and production cannot happen in isolation. By taking a truly participatory approach with the Team, the act of co-developing an innovative product solution took place – powerful and actionable insights were shared, illustrated and documented to assist with a swift product development process.

The innovation behind this product came from the need to co-ordinate the range of output packages (e.g. 2000 lumen to 12,000 lumen) from a street light in a circulation area such as pedestrian zones, a park pathway, a residential street light, to high output specifications for road lighting. A housing was created that separated the LED light engine from the electronic driver unit that powers the fitting – when combined they integrate appropriate light distribution, power efficiency and on-site user friendly installation. The light head unit is factory fitted when the order is placed for the output package which is then added and matched to the correct electronic driver unit. This makes both ordering and specification simpler for the specifier and also easier in terms of the client’s SAP logistics and management of itinerary.

On making a visit to Richard Neutra's housing development at Walldorf in the Rhine-Main region in Germany, I was delightfully surprised to see the Cuvia street luminaire providing light in and around the 42 home development. It seems to fit right in! I would hope Mr.Neutra would have approved.

Cuvia is also versatile.......it was spotted in an Urban context (below) in Darmstadt, Germany

Also spotted in cycle lane locations in Darmstadt and roadside residential locations in Weiterstadt, Hessen region, Germany
